Magazine analysis Task 2

In Task 2 I have analysed a 'Vibe' magazine; i described the magazine thoroughly. I have analysed NickiMinaj and how shes presented in the magazine and how it appeals to the reader.

 The masthead is behind the artist as she covers most it leaving a little glimpse to look at,this shows that Vibe is a very well known company and which the master head hidden people will still recognise the brand and  still appeal to its audience. The colour scheme coordinated to orange and white and the text font is in bold black writing. Futhermore Other artists are featured inside the magazine also  are famous and well known, this will attract more people who do nott really like  the Hip Hop  genre and will also ensure it drives up sale of the magazine itself as it opens up a wider audience.

NME Magazine Analysis- Front Cover

The masthead “NME” suggests the magazine genre is urban/rnb it’s in bold/black across the top of the page, also the font is very bold with a masculine look as it suggest that the target audience for this magazine is males aged 16-25 year olds in contrast to other magazines such as the Glamour magazine which is feminine and would suggest that its appropriate for females. A List of popular names are on the page to persuade the buyers to purchase this magazine as they may see someone they have interest in. The colour of the masthead is solid white with a red background, this makes it stand out very clearly which either can associate with power, elegance and blood.

The image used on the front cover is a direct mode of address this is effective as it would grab the buyers attention instantly. The camera shot is a medium long shot, with the artist in the centre of attention which represents his importance. The image of the model can represent the genre of music he is advertising.

Cover lines such as “Bloody hell” aren’t very descriptive this can usher readers to open and read what’s inside. The headline “bloody hell “is the biggest out of all the other ones large /,xzA               , bold and vague latters capture the reader’s attention but it does not give too much information away.
